Why I love coyotes...

I was fortunate to spend a couple of years living in Wyoming, but saw how folks hated coyotes and shot them just because they were there. I've always cheered for the "underdogs", so coyotes are a natural hard luck sort of critter for me to love.  Whereas so many natural predators have been forced to the brink of extinction by those who would tame the entire United States, the coyote, a determined opportunist, has managed to thrive in spite of the human population explosion over the last couple hundred years!

Before I turned 30, I found myself quite unexpectedly widowed with a young son to care for.  Coyote became known to me as my spirit guide, or form of guardian angel if you prefer.  I decided that I did not want just to survive, but to really learn to live again...it was not an easy journey, but with the Trickster as my guide I would expect nothing less!  My life rarely goes as planned, but at least I don't get bored *smile*.
